For more than seven decades, the Carpathia Kickers have been training Michigan's top players and squads. We nurture a fondness for the sport in our youthful athletes and grow that enthusiasm as they grow older. We instill a sense of pride in our individuals, our teams and our club. Our organization promotes a setting that enables every player to savor the excitement of competition and involvement, and the endeavor of progression.
A building blocks approach is taken by the Carpathia Kickers FC for player development. A player's initial path is heavily focused on technique and skill development. The introduction of tactical elements increases as competency increases. Carpathia is committed to developing each athlete. We look to aim for the total development of each player and the team.
This includes Technical Skills, Tactical Knowledge, Physical Strength, Endurance, Confidence, Leadership, and Teamwork. Repetition and deliberate practice are the keys to learning. To master new skills, players need to receive a high frequency of realistic situations that offer maximum contact with the soccer ball.
Players must be challenged to work at a high-intensity level that replicates a game environment. Our four-corner model is equally important, and no corner works independently. Different players have varying needs, and this approach helps us to identify and meet them. At Carpathia, we’re looking at the holistic development of our players.
Team practice is held twice a week throughout the fall, winter, and spring. Furthermore, events and speed and agility drills are also included in the regimen. Training usually begins in mid-August and roughly ends the last week of May. There is a pause for a couple of the Holidays.
Depending on competition level, teams will participate in the Michigan Youth Soccer League (MYSL).
We select tournaments for our teams that will give them the opportunity to compete against opponents they do not normally encounter in their regular league matches. The tournaments we choose take place in Michigan and other parts of the region.
